ISS is a spin-off from CIIMAR and is well funded and supported by a lead investor which is a sizeable independent VC firm in Portugal with proven experience in successfully propelling Iberian startups into international markets.
Role summary
This role is for an autonomous and skilled Data Analyst comfortable with data manipulation, ensuring data sanity, and having a foundational knowledge of SQL and Python or similar. You will be responsible for maintaining high data quality standards and leveraging data-driven insights to drive business growth. Additionally, you will act as the main point of contact with our external development team, supporting product and project management activities. You will work alongside an experienced and engaged team in close collaboration with the Business Development Manager and the executive team to support the company’s strategic goals and roadmap.

What is the role?
Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Data Management: Experience or basic knowledge of SQL for database management and data querying.
- Data Manipulation: Utilize Python or similar for data analysis, manipulation, and maintaining data sanity.
- Data Sanity Maintenance: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data across all platforms.
- Reporting: Create detailed reports and present data clearly and concisely using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Data Organization: Strong skills in organizing and analyzing tabular data to support business decisions.
- Project Management: Manage data and digital project activities as the main point of contact between the external development team and the internal technical team.
- R&D Support: Support the R&D team I the acceleration of new product development.
- AI-driven Solutions: Implement and promote AI-driven approaches to optimize business processes and decision-making.
What we need from you?
To succeed in this role, you will have the following:
Skills:
Degree or graduate certification in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field (must-have).
Experience in biotechnology, life sciences or related industries.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) as a Data Analyst.
- Previous experience or basic knowledge of SQL.
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data integrity.
- Ability to create detailed reports and present data in a clear, concise manner in Power BI or similar tools.
- Strong skills in organizing and analyzing tabular data to support business and R&D decisions.
- Experience in product or project management, particularly in liaising with development teams.
- AI-driven mindset with the ability to implement innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
