About ISS - Inclita Seaweed Solutions ISS is an innovative and sustainable Portuguese marine biotech startup, dedicated to the discovery, development, production and commercialisation of sustainable and innovative ingredients derived from seaweeds, tailored to the needs of customers in cosmetics, nutraceuticals and petceuticals. ISS is a spin-off from CIIMAR and is well funded and supported by a lead investor which is a sizeable independent VC firm in Portugal with proven experience in successfully propelling Iberian startups into international markets.
What is the role? Your main responsibilities will be to support the ISS’s Business Development Manager and founders’ team to identify, assess, select, define, and execute new growth and business development opportunities, combining ISS’s financial gain and customer satisfaction, which include but not are limit to the following:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Cosmetics and Life Sciences industries (focused on ingredients for product formulations) - Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers. - Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and potential clients. - Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company goals. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of business initiatives. - Negotiate and close deals with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements. - Provide training sessions to clients and distributors on product features, benefits, and usage. - Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows. - Coordinate and organize company-sponsored events to enhance brand visibility and engage with clients. - Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements.
What we need from you? This role is for a business developer comfortable in helping with the commercial operation from marketing to sales, including new business development for innovative products. To succeed in this role, you will have the following:
Requirements: - Proven experience (3-5 years) in business development within the Cosmetics/Life Sciences sectors. - Educational background in Life Sciences or Business (Degree or Masters). - Strong understanding of the Cosmetics and Life Sciences industries, including market dynamics and key players. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets. - Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. - Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards. - Willingness to travel as needed.
